School Meals Cleaner (Hot Drop) - Sarsfield GAA
From a tiny team of dreamers to now employing hundreds of staff throughout your communities – dads, aunties, grannies, and neighbours (you name it!). We prioritise local hiring.
A little bit about us
Looking for a job that actually makes a difference – and fits into your day-to-day routine?
At The Lunch Bag, we deliver healthy, hot school meals to children across Ireland. We're the country's leading school meal provider, and we're on a mission to help children build healthy habits for life.
We're changing children's lives, one lunch at a time. And while our meals might be the stars of the show, there's a whole team working behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly!
Are you reliable, organised and someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and tidy? We're looking for people who want to help us keep doing something great. Bonus? You're off when the schools are!
So, what's the job?
We're on the hunt for Hot Drop Cleaners – reliable, hardworking people who take pride in keeping things clean, organised and running smoothly.
Our Hot Drop Locations are where school meals are heated and prepared for delivery to local schools. Once the busy lunchtime rush is over, that's where you come in!
The main focus of this role is waste management, making sure all waste generated throughout the day is collected, sorted and disposed of correctly. You'll also help with general cleaning and keeping the Hot Drop Location tidy and ready for the following day.
If you're someone who loves a good checklist, here's what your day might look like:
Collect, sort and dispose of waste generated during the daily lunch service.
Manage bins and ensure waste is separated and disposed of correctly.
Keep waste disposal areas clean, tidy and organised.
Empty, clean and maintain bins as required.
Clean floors, worktops, surfaces and general work areas.
Wash and clean equipment used during the daily lunch service.
Follow daily cleaning schedules and waste management procedures.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in accordance with HACCP guidelines and EHO requirements.
Help ensure everything is clean, organised and ready for the following school day.
It's only a couple of hours each day, but it's an important job! After all, nobody wants to start their morning surrounded by yesterday's mess!
What we're looking for
We're looking for doers – people who are sound, reliable and genuinely take pride in doing a good job.
You don't need years of cleaning experience or a qualification in making things sparkle. What matters most is having a good attitude and being willing to get stuck in!
Ideally, you'll be someone who:
Takes pride in keeping things clean and organised.
Is comfortable handling waste and carrying out waste disposal duties.
Is reliable, punctual and hardworking.
Can work independently and manage their time effectively.
Is happy to get stuck into practical, hands-on tasks.
Can follow cleaning, waste management and hygiene procedures.
Has good attention to detail.
You'll also need to be able to read and understand English to follow cleaning instructions and health and safety procedures.
Previous cleaning experience would be great, but it's not essential. We're happy to show you the ropes!
I still have questions actually…
No problem! We're here to answer them.
When will I work?
This role is offered on a part-time basis, Monday through Friday!
You'll work approximately 2 hours per day, with typical hours of 12:30pm – 2:30pm.
There may be some flexibility required depending on the needs of the Hot Drop Location.
Will I have to work all year long?
No! As schools close for the summer, we follow the academic calendar.
That means you'll work during the school term and enjoy the school holidays off!
What benefits do I get by joining The Lunch Bag?
Well, for starters – a genuinely supportive team who've got your back!
The short daily shifts make this a great opportunity if you're looking for something that fits around family life, other commitments or simply want a few hours of work during the school day.
You'll also be part of a team that's helping provide hot, nutritious meals to children across Ireland.
How much is it paid?
It's THE question everybody is asking!
The same way we take care of the children in schools, we take care of our people.
You'll earn €14.65 per hour.
Sound like your kind of job?
If you're reliable, hardworking and don't mind rolling up your sleeves to keep things clean and organised, we'd love to hear from you!
Come join The Lunch Bag and help us keep changing children's lives, one lunch at a time! 😊
